How do we respond when our heroes fall?
We can respond like Nathan.
1) Talk to them.
2 Samuel 2:12:1
The LORD sent Nathan to David. When he came to him, he said, "There were two men in a certain town, one rich and the other poor.”
Galations 6:1
Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted.
2) Remind them of His forgiveness and grace.
2 Samuel 12:13
Then David said to Nathan, "I have sinned against the LORD." Nathan replied, "The LORD has taken away your sin. You are not going to die.”
3) Move On.
What if you are fallen hero?
We can respond like David.
1) Admit our sin.
Ps 51:4
Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you are proved right when you speak and justified when you judge.
2) Accept the consequences.
3) Acknowledge that others are hurt by our sin.
4) Receive His grace and move on.
